The biggest Knotted Gun replica at the 2020 expo in Dubai

The Non-Violence Project Foundation unveils a wooden and world’s biggest Knotted Gun replica at the 2020 Expo in Dubai

The Non-Violence Project Foundation (NVPF) is thrilled to announce that, thanks to the support from Ulrich John, Trustee from Original Voice Trust (OVT), the first wooden and biggest replica of the Knotted Gun has been recently unveiled at the Swedish Pavilion of the 2020 Expo in Dubai. The unveiling was attended by Amina Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. The choice of wood of this 2m size replica also shows the importance of sustainability, a value that both the Foundation and Ulrich John share.

On October 24th, a wooden and world biggest replica of the Knotted Gun was unveiled to the public at the entrance of the Swedish Pavilion of the 2020 Expo in Dubai. The original piece of art was indeed created by a Swedish artist, Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd, to honor John Lennon’s vision of a peaceful world after his death. The original bronze sculpture was placed, in 1988, outside the UN headquarters in New York and recognized as an international symbol of peace including UN Secretary and Peace Nobel Laureate Koffi Annan. To date, more than 30 replicas of the sculpture have been exhibited over five continents (to know more about the Knotted Gun worldwide click here).
“With Dubai, we are taking a step further” says Jan Hellmann, co-founder of NVPF. “We indeed want to show how important it is to stem violence with a specific attention to cyberbullying and all forms of violence impacting kids, teenagers but also adults in their personal or professional lives”. Claes Kalborg, NVPF member and and KNOT OK CEO, an initiative to make the gaming industry a safer place, added; “Together with Original Voice Trust, we want to broaden our work and really focus on digital violence at it is a challenging issue that is now global”. Ulrich John, Trustee from OVT concluded ” we supported this project as we want to add a voice and become part of creating a new regenerative and sustainable world”.
