Muhammad Ali, born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., was an American professional boxer renowned as one of the most significant sports figures of the 20th century. In 1999, Sports Illustrated honored him as Sportsman of the Century.
In December 2012, during a visit to Mexico City organized by the World Boxing Council, Ali was appointed as an ambassador for The Non-Violence Project. As part of his commitment, he created his own interpretation of The Knotted Gun, originally designed by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd as a tribute to John Lennon. Ali’s version, Punch for Peace, features his famous quote, 'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.'
Ali's legacy extends beyond his boxing achievements; his advocacy for peace, civil rights, and humanitarian efforts continues to inspire individuals worldwide.
The Punch for Peace sculpture is available in a limited edition, hand-painted and presented in an exclusive gift box with a certificate. A portion of the proceeds supports The Non-Violence Project’s mission.
The Non-Violence Project Foundation is a non-profit organization with special consultative status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
