In spring 2011 the retailer H&M spread the messages of non-violence and peace with a specially designed Knotted Gun Collection. The collection was sold successfully in H&M stores worldwide.

THE KNOTTED GUN COLLECTION

The organic cotton collection offered t-shirts and accessories for women and men and featured slogans and graphics with the message of non-violence.Prominent images in the collection include the knotted gun, originally conceived by artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd in response to the death of John Lennon, peace symbols and hand gestures representing peace.

The Non-Violence Project

The Non-Violence Project is a non-profit organization created in 1993 with the goal of preventing and reducing violence. The organization is headquartered in Switzerland and is active in many countries around the world. Its symbol, the Knotted Gun, is an international symbol of peace.

Our mission is to INSPIRE, MOTIVATE and ENGAGE people to solve conflicts without resorting to any form of violence. Through education and awareness, we measure the impact of our programs and we have a specific focus on youth as we believe in the power of young people as changemakers.
