In spring 2011, H&M collaborated with The Non-Violence Project to launch the Knotted Gun Collection, a limited-edition line designed to spread awareness of peace and non-violence through fashion. Sold in H&M stores worldwide, the collection successfully reached a global audience, using design to inspire conversations about conflict resolution and unity.
Made from organic cotton, the collection featured a range of t-shirts and accessories for both men and women, blending bold design with a powerful message. Each piece incorporated symbols of peace, including hand gestures, classic peace signs, and the iconic Knotted Gun, originally created by Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd in response to the tragic loss of John Lennon. The collection reflected H&M’s commitment to social responsibility and global awareness, offering customers a way to take a stand for peace in their everyday lives.
By wearing the H&M x Non-Violence Collection, individuals became part of a larger movement, using fashion as a statement for a world free from violence. This collaboration showcased the ability of design, creativity, and global retail to drive meaningful change, proving that style and purpose can go hand in hand.
