Gianluigi Buffon is an Italian former professional footballer, widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time. He began his professional career with Parma in 1995, winning the Coppa Italia, UEFA Cup, and Supercoppa Italiana before moving to Juventus in 2001, where he became a key figure and secured multiple Serie A titles. Internationally, Buffon earned 176 caps for the Italian national team and was instrumental in Italy’s 2006 FIFA World Cup victory.
In 2010, Buffon was appointed a Non-Violence Ambassador. As part of his commitment, he created his own interpretation of The Knotted Gun, titled Football for Peace, which he donated to Nelson Mandela’s Foundation in honor of Mandela’s dedication to peace and non-violence.
