Ernst Billgren is a Swedish artist, writer, and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts. Known for his diverse artistic expressions, his public sculptures can be seen across Sweden today.
In 2011, Billgren became a Non-Violence Ambassador, joining his good friend, tennis champion Robin Söderling, to create their own interpretation of The Knotted Gun. The sculpture, titled Tennis For Peace, was painted using an innovative technique - Billgren dipped tennis balls into paint while Söderling hit them onto the sculpture. Tennis For Peace was unveiled at the Swedish Open on center court in Båstad.
The Tennis For Peace sculpture is available in a limited edition, hand-painted and presented in an exclusive gift box with a certificate. A portion of the proceeds supports The Non-Violence Project’s mission.
The Non-Violence Project Foundation is a non-profit organization with special consultative status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
