Derrick Green

Derrick Green is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist of the Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura, a position he has held since 1997. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Green began his music career with the hardcore band Outface before joining Sepultura.​

In 2012, Green became a Non-Violence Ambassador, actively promoting peace through his music and social media platforms. Demonstrating his commitment to the cause, he designed his own interpretation of The Knotted Gun sculpture, featuring a black-and-white design with a skull motif. This sculpture has accompanied him on tour, serving as a powerful symbol of non-violence.​

Beyond his musical endeavors, Green is known for his advocacy of veganism and animal rights, aligning with his commitment to non-violence. Through his art and lifestyle, Green continues to inspire others to embrace peace and compassion.
