PEACE PROGRAMS

The purpose of these programs is to assist young people to identify the importance of a healthy self-esteem, use conflict management skills to solve problems and learn how to act in a peaceful and non-violent way. 

SCHOOLS FOR PEACE; LEVELS 1, 2, 3 – STUDENTS (AGE 12-18)

Promoting the values of self-esteem, conflict management and non-violence. The program helps young people to understand themselves, their friends, and the adults in their lives, and to come up with peaceful solutions to problems.

Non-Violence Education – Full package Schools For Peace Level 1

Approach:

  • Based on prevention.

Duration:

  • Each level has 10 sessions (or 1 school hour) which equals 10 school hours. We recommend delivering 1 or 2 sessions per week which takes 5 or 10 weeks program for each level.
  • We also recommend that all 3 levels are implemented to ensure more sustainable change in skills, knowledge and behaviour. All 3 levels (30 sessions) equals approx. 1 year program.

Method of delivery:

  1. Train the Trainer program – purpose of this program is two-fold:
  • Teachers do all the activities as ‘students’ and experience the change themselves
  • Teachers learn how to facilitate the program to students

SPORTS FOR PEACE; LEVELS 1, 2, 3 – ATHLETES (AGE 12-18)

Educating and motivating coaches and volunteer leaders within any sports discipline to integrate life skills education into their sport training. The life skills segment includes inspiring activities focusing on building healthy self-esteem and how to solve conflicts peacefullyin sports environments. The Sports for Peace program is based on Schools for Peace program, only adjusted to suit the sport environment.

Non-Violence Education – Full package Sports For Peace Level 1

  • Each level has 10 sessions at 30 mins each. We recommend delivering 1 or 2 sessions per week which takes 5 or 10 weeks program for each level.

SPORTS FOR PEACE KIDS PROGRAM; LEVEL 1, STUDENTS (AGE 7-10)

Addressing violence such as bullying must start at early age. Our kids program helps students to identify the importance of and build on healthy self-esteem, use conflict management skills to solve problems, and learn how to act in peaceful and non-violent way.

Duration:

  • This level has 10 sessions (or 1 school hour) which equals 10 school hours. We recommend delivering 1 or 2 sessions per week which equals 5 or 10 weeks of the program.

Approach, , material and method of delivery are the same as in Schools for Peace for 10-18 year olds.


TRAIN-THE-TRAINER programs

Designed to provide teachers, sports coaches and youth leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to pass NVP educational programs on to young people.
